This Comedy/Romance/Musical from 1967 has some good moments and some not-so-good moments, too. I liked a few of the musical numbers which were really quite impressive.

Set in the year 1922 - This lavish production's location was in NYC where the "flapper" craze was in full swing and "jazz babies" could be seen everywhere.

You'll have to be really patient with this one's story as it goes on (and on and on) for 2 hours and 30 minutes. But, for the most part - This is an entertaining movie.

This 1967 Chick Flick is a fairly lively (but frequently silly) Comedy/Romance/Musical that takes a decidedly "madcap" look at the art of "husband hunting", 1920's style.

I must say that there were a couple of really well-staged musical numbers presented in this lavish "Ross Hunter" production. But, at a 2.5-hour running time - "Modern Millie's" story (which was set in NYC) did tend to wear a little thin at times.

Produced on an extravagant $6 million budget - This film won an Oscar for "Best Original Score" which was composed by Elmer Bernstein.

I feel bad; I love Julie Andrews but I got really bored after a while.

GREAT 1967 zany romantic film spoof on Roaring 20's. Terrific cast - fun to see Mary Tyler Moore in an earlier, different context than I had previously seen her. Carol Channing as Muzzy was fabulous with her over the top facial whackiness - and also showing off her lithe figure in dance numbers.
There were several great song and dance numbers including the amusing tapioca tap dance, Julie Andrews as Millie singing in Yiddish at a wedding party, and Carol Channing doing 'Jazz Baby'.
Beatrice Lillie brings a bit of Margaret Hamilton villainesquetry to her role as evil Mrs. Meers. John Gavin was new to me - and quite good in his male lead role as was James Fox in his.
This film was an excellent and fun discovery for me and I recommend others to give it a look.

a really cute musical/movie. Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore are great together. Loved the tap dancing elevator scene. Carol Channing is fun to watch.

This is a great musical with Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, and a small part by Carol Channing. The songs are fun and the story is charming if you don't take it seriously. You'll never forget Soy Sauce!
