This is a really bad movie. I watched about 20 minutes of it. Very amateurish. Perhaps a 14-year-old or younger could appreciate it.

Not very good. Pretty boring at parts. The begging was super boring and it barely got interesting throughout. The dumb characters made it worse. Could kind of connect with the characters but barely. Lots of shaking the camera, but overall not very interesting. Ok plot but takes too long to get to the action. I need a camera like that though, it’s literally indestructible unlike everything else. Wouldn’t recommend watching.

It's movies like this that make me glad I am no longer a teenager.

Maybe one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Made no sense at all, and unless you just LOVE the jerky hand held camera, sideways shots, floor shots, running shots etc. this movie is not for anyone. That is how the entire movie is filmed. Please don't confuse this movie with 12 Cloverfield Lane (I think that is the name, the one with John Goodman), as that one was very worthwhile to watch and enjoyable. This one was a total waste of time for me. Somehow I ended up giving this a one star when I should be no stars at all.

I can't remember the movie we were seeing when the teaser for Cloverfield popped on out of nowhere. Normally teasers leave little detail, but heighten a sense of what might be. I remember after whatever movie we were seeing was over, we kept saying, "What was that?" A unique element of surprise we've come to expect from JJ Abrams.

Meh. Not bad "found footage" movie, great creatures, not so great story... and there were points where it absolutely didn't make sense for the characters to continue with the filming (I found that really jarring).

When i first watched this movie i wasn't sure what to expect. I was very surprised to find that it became one of my favorite movies at the time. Almost everyone i know who had seen the movie hated it, but it was so different than everything else i had see (given i have not seen the blair witch project) that i could not help but like the movie.

Get a bottle of Dramamine. Filmed like the Blair Witch movie. 84 minutes of my life I've wasted. Very lame.

Can't see what is going on. The constant language and taking of Our LORD's name in vain was terrible. Not recommended.

Hud: Ocean is big, dude. All I'm saying is a couple of years ago, they found a fish in Madagascar that they thought been extinct for centuries.

Rob Hawkins: So what? It's been down there this whole time, and nobody noticed?

Hud: Sure. Maybe it erupted from an ocean trench, you know? Or a crevasse. Crevice. It's just a theory. I mean, for all we know, it's from another planet and it flew here.

Marlena Diamond: Like Superman?

Hud: Yeah, exactly like... Wait. You know who Superman is?

Marlena Diamond: Oh, my God. You know who Superman is?

Hud: Okay, I'm not...

Marlena Diamond: [sarcastically] I'm, like, feeling something. Are you aware of Garfield.

I would love to write a quote here, but this movie is not that pithy. It doesn't have much dialog other than "What was that?' and "Oh my God! RUN!!" These feel like real people running for their lives, so they don't have really time to be funny or profound.
