Perfect Snow by Barbara Reid is a great book about teamwork and collaboration.

Jim and Scott are so excited when they wake up to "the perfect snow." Scott wants to build a "team" of snowmen on the playground while Jim wants build "The World's Greatest Totally Massive Snowman Fort."

Unfortunately, Jim's rowdy classmates keep stealing snow from his fort. When they form a mob headed towards Scott's team of snowmen, Jim knows he has to help Scott. The kids learn that playing together is better than hoarding the snow.

In addition to the good moral, Perfect Snow has unique Plasticine illustrations that make the kids look real as well as beautiful black and white drawings.

Beautifully captures all the excitement and possibilities that come with "perfect snow."

As a teacher librarian at two schools, I read Perfect Snow in January when the snow was falling fast and furiously! That day on yard duty there appeared a "totally massive, indestructible SNOW FORTRESS OF DOOM!" In fact there were several, all closely huddled snowmen made by busy focused students. I'm thinking... could it be?

The next day at the other school, what do I find... ?

Well, what a powerful influence Perfect Snow had on our students. Some of the forts have lasted into March... without their heads of course!

We loved this book, and enjoyed making clay snowmen after our story!

Our whole class really enjoyed the plasticene pictures. Some people in our class have other Barbara Reid books. We think the next story should be called Excellent Slush.

Barbara Reid has created another beautiful book.
As you go through this book you are drawn to the pages of the illustration. She has created details that are stunning .
This book is for boys and girls 4-7 years. The story is about boys though.
