"When teenager Jennifer Maidment's murdered and mutilated body is discovered, it is clear that there is a dangerous psychopath on the loose. But it's not long before Tony Hill and DCI Carol Jordan realise it's just the start of a brutal and ruthless campaign targeting an apparently unconnected group of young people. Their chameleon-like killer is chatting with them online, pretending to share their interests and beliefs - and then luring them to their deaths."--Publisher description.

Very good book. McDermid writes an interesting and fast-paced plot, with several sub-story lines that add to the main one but never overwhelm the reader.

I loved this book. I have seen the British tv series, "Wire in the Blood". Robson Green plays Dr. Tony Hill, a criminal profiler who works with DCI Carol Jordan of the Bradfield Police Dept. The relationship between these two keeps one guessing. The characters in the book are well developed and more realistic then some crime books as their flaws are revealed as the story unfolds. Lots of twists and turns in the plot made this book difficult to put down.

A Tony Hill(profiler) and DCI Carol Jordan novel. A killer targets young teenagers who appear random but... there is a connection of course.
