A slow moving story, nicely told, about a grown man trying to find himself through his childhood memories.

A lovely story with many twists and turns. I did not want to put it down, the cleaver ending that you didn't expect made you guessing till the end.
Great author, want to read more of Marcia Willett.

This is about a successful writer, Matt, who felt troubled by his feeling of loss all his life. When he inherited a box containing family photos and letters from his late mother, he was more confused. Especially when he found several photos of him as a child. Or was it him? The clothes look unfamiliar and why wasn't his sister, Imogen in any of them? An intriguing story! Also in the story is his sister Imogen, who fell in love with the Summer House where they spent their early childhood years. She wanted to buy the house but realized how it might affect her relationship with her veterinarian husband who want to move near his practice.

I find this a wonderful interesting story but the ending was quite unexpected and not what I thought. What a twist! A good read!

A good summer read with characters you will care about.
Matt and his sister Imogen are raised mostly by a family friend after the death of their father and their mother's slide into depression. But even as an adult and a newly successful writer, Matt feels something missing and in the house of the title comes to an unexpected discovery about his past.
Set in the west of England with loving details about the countryside. If you like Rosamunde Pilcher or Maeve Binchy, you will like Marcia Willett.
