Fun and light-hearted, this book is a great one to read aloud to kids. There's comedic banter between this father and daughter that's sure to produce some giggles, and the situation is one many parents can relate to! The illustrations provide a unique way of storytelling on their own, switching styles between the main story, the story Papa is reading, and the story that the little chicken tells.

Highly entertaining book that has the side benefit of teaching children how annoying interrupting is. It helps if you're willing to use a different "excited voice" to read the Chicken interruptions. This is definitely a "read out loud" kind of book; it wouldn't be nearly as much fun read silently.

To get the most out of the book, the kids already need to be at least a little familiar with the fairy tales that Papa starts to read Chicken (Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and Chicken Little).

The ending is a little anticlimactic, but we still very much enjoyed the book.

I love reading this story to my students! We all found it to be very entertaining . Even my fourth graders would ask me to read it again and again. It is also a great story to use when you need to teach kids about not interrupting others.

This is the best book I've found for teaching children to listen without constantly interrupting. I use it in September and from then on my kindergarten class knows exactly what I mean when I ask, "Are you being an interrupting chicken?" They get it!

This is a wonderful book and I recommend all children read this book. Its a fun and interesting book. Children will get a kick out of reading this and will learn not to interrupt people. It is a great lesson on how to teach children to not talk while others are talking as well. I think children will truly grasp the concept of this book in a funny way. Its a great lesson for teachers to teach when they are being interrupted in class by their students. Children will love the jokes and humor that comes from this great book!

A fairly brilliant book about a dad trying to read a story to his young daughter, except she keeps interrupting the story. Funny and drives the message home without being preachy. Kids love this book.
