Born in Lubbock, Texas (1936) - (singer/songwriter/guitarist) Charles Holley (aka. "Buddy" Holly) was one of the top American, teenage recording artists of his generation.

Holly (who wrote all of his own songs) was only 16 when his promising career as a budding musician began (1952). Often appearing with the Crickets - Holly's trademark of wearing horn-rimmed glasses and business suits while performing earned him plenty of respect and admiration from his many adoring fans.

This "Best Of" CD contains 12 tracks in all which were recorded by Holly and the Crickets in the years from 1957-1958.

*Note* - In 1959 - Buddy Holly (22 at the time) was killed in a tragic plane crash that also took the life of musician, Ritchie Valens, as well.
