As an independent tribunal established under the Forest Practices Code of British Columbia, the Commission hears appeals from decisions made under the Code and is required to make recommendations to the Lieutenant Governor in Council (Cabinet) about review and appeal procedures. This report describes the structure and function of the Commission and how the appeal process operates. It also contains the number and types of appeals that were initiated and completed, the resources used in hearing appeals, an evaluation by the Commission office of the review and appeal processes, and recommendations for amendments to the Code and its regulations respecting reviews and appeals. Summaries of appeals filed are also provided and relevant sections of the Code and its regulations, are included as well.
