It analyzes forest land-based resource issues from the perspective of biological needs & local forest management priorities, and provides a detailed compendium of resource issues, objectives, strategies, & tactical priorities determined by ministry staff in collaboration with stakeholders. The plan consists of ten components, three of which directly serve Forest Renewal BC strategic investment planning needs: sustainable harvest, including enhanced forestry & backlog silviculture; sustainable forest management, focussing on maintenance of environmental values & resource benefits; and enhancing environmental values, which addresses priority watershed restoration planning and other local watershed-related resource issues. The remaining components cover current reforestation, forest health maintenance, recreation investments, forest service road management, non-status road deactivation & rehabilitation, forest resources inventories, and research.
