Great action movie based on a script/ idea from Akira Kurosawa- Edward Bunker also contributed to the screenplay- this movie might look slight on paper but it really packs a punch.

Enjoyed it in 1985 when it came out but now...much less so.

The characters are contrived and the constant foul language was irritating.

Way better films out there. Don't waste your time.

Great action film, not for everyone but this is a semi-classic, well worth watching. I found the characters believable, especially Jon Voight.

A good prison movie. With a screenwriting and acting credit to Edward Bunker, one of my faves. Based on a screenplay by Akira Kurowsawa.

Yeah, I tried to like this one but straight from the beginning I really disliked the characters. I believe it was the way that they spoke. Eric Robert's character, Buck was the most irritating of them all, and the dialogue was poor between them all. It felt like everyone was trying too hard to be "tough" or "gangster" that it's almost laughable. When characters are unappealing as these you don't care much for them, so their plight is of little importance in the end.

Violence: Physical abuse much? A lot of blood too.

Coarse Language: Almost everything that comes out these two convicts is a swear. It gets super annoying.
