The US Army Human Research includes extensive experimenting on terminal battlefield
GIs -brains- since Korea and perhaps before. These experiments are quite astonishing. It is only a matter of time until the theme of this movie becomes reality...assuming it is not reality already. I would write more but "they" would silence me...

I loved the original storyline, but the movie lost me at the very end. Maybe too many things happening at once with being sent back one last time and being cut off, yet still saving the train even though it sounded impossible to do as it already happened. It lost me.

Directed by Duncan Jones in 2011, this American-French SF thriller tells about the experimental life of a U.S. Army captain who steps into a computed reality to find a bomber.
With a nicely constructed storyline, it turns out to be an ingenious, perplexing and entertaininig thriller.
You might want to view it at least twice.

Action, thriller, sad when you see Jake Gyllenhall as he is in the capsule. I thought Michelle Monaghan was annoying because she’d pop up at the wrong times, but she was just doing her job. Reminded me of “Edge of Tomorrow” being sent back to figure out the future.

A little bit of "Die Hard" and a whole lot of "Groundhog Day" make Duncan Jones’ second foray into science fiction (after the much lauded "Moon" with Sam Rockwell) a somewhat engaging Chinese puzzle of a film—how do you solve a crime that hasn’t happened yet when you have to re-live the same brief stretch of time repeatedly? But the techie explanations are shoddy at best rendering everything more fantasy than science and a repetitive love story (he only has eight minutes per mission to woo the doomed woman in the seat across from him) add an unnecessary chick flick element to what is ultimately a Search & Destroy thriller. And not a very good one at that. Gyllenhaal acts as if someone just woke him up from a deep sleep and object of desire Michelle Monaghan seems content to simply watch the passing scenery. Only Vera Farmiga, playing a mission controller with a conscience, adds a degree of credibility when her starched military demeanour gives way to compassionate concern but she isn’t given nearly enough lines. “Change The Past. Save The Future” reads the movie’s tagline—better to change your mind and save your money instead.

This was a really good movie with more thought into the plot than some of the other sci/fi films. I enjoyed it at the theater and enjoyed it again on DVD. A good, thought provoking film.

Source Code is a film I missed in the theater and am so happy to have found on the library's shelves. Equal parts science fiction and action adventure, Source Code is a Hitchcockian-style thriller that will pull you to the edge of your seat and keep you there for one ticking time bomb after another. When Captain Colter Stevens wakes up on a Chicago commuter train he has absolutely no idea what he's doing there. He quickly learns that he has been tasked with using a futuristic technology to uncover the terrorists responsible for a recent attack. But even as Colter struggles to complete his mission we start to learn more about his situation and exactly how the new technology works. And the more we learn the more disturbing it becomes.
A great pick for fans of The Twilight Zone or anyone just looking for a good action adventure.

A very interesting twist on time travel and alternate reality. I truly wish that we could do this to prevent terrorist attacks.

This was an amazing movie! My favorite movie now ever. It is a pretty deep movie. I just watched it for the 4th time straight through and am still noticing and "getting" things I did not see the first three times through.
Fantastic show!

Dr. Rutledge: You know, many soldiers would find this preferable to death. The opportunity to continue serving their country.
Colter Stevens: Have you... have you spent much time in battle, sir? Huh?
Dr. Rutledge: That's immaterial.
Colter Stevens: Any soldier I've ever served with would say that one death is service enough.
