It's well worth it to check it out just to watch the scene filmed at the Douglas County Fair. They make the LHS Lions marching band look like a bunch of backwoods clowns, but this movie is still awesome. It's brutal, violent, extremely upsetting for the time it was made and based on facts to boot. Gene Hackman really rocks it too. This is a must see for every Lawrencian.

As Mr. Blonde says to Mr. White in RESERVOIR DOGS, "I bet you're a Lee Marvin fan." To see Lee Marvin five years after POINT BLANK, as well as a nude Sissy Spacek in her Hollywood feature debut, PRIME CUT, at less than 90 minutes, is worth your while. Gene Hackman plays the amoral heavy. But mostly why I enjoyed this film is that it provides a brilliant snapshot of Nixonian America, a time -- probably the last time -- when the working class was still relatively cohesive and unbroken in this country.
