I love Dickens, and this book captures him as a little boy perfectly, in my un-academic opinion. Whenever I read about his early life, I feel so grateful that he survived, not just in body, but in spirit and heart, and was able to tell us so many stories. I recommend this to all Dickens fans, and all literary households with kids under 10.
