When the author was first home with her small children, she thought her blog would be something to keep friends and family updated. To her surprise, she hit a chord in the hearts of mothers everywhere. As other women shared their stories, Jill realized she wasn't alone in her feelings of exhaustion and imperfection. But she sensed her readers were still holding back so she decided to start an anonymous confessional, a place where real moms could leave their most honest thoughts. The results were amazing: some sad, some pee-in-your-pants funny, some brutally honest.--From book jacket.

I found the mix of confessions with the essays to be really refreshing and they cut quite close to what parenting and mothering is - my favourite one is when she talks about the dual nature of each of her children when asked, "Do I have a favourite child?" They are all our favourite, and we also dislike them intensely from time to time. Nothing truer than that.

Jill Smokler and I MUST share a brain; she's just a billion times better at putting her thoughts on paper. This book will make you actually laugh out loud (not just say LOL because you should be) and give you a sense of community with other moms who aren't always (ahem, never) perfect. I am recommending this to all my mommy friends and I think we should gather weekly until eternity to discuss it.

Funny book for all( parents, aunts uncles and those young at heart ) the stories and insight are honest in a raw and enlighting way. Loved it and very easy to read.

Not for the faint of heart or the sanctimommy.

Extremely funny, yet some of the confessions are heartbreaking, that moms have to hide the imperfections that make us real.
