"Bornstein shares her story: from a nice Jewish boy growing up in New Jersey to a strappingly handsome lieutenant of the Church of Scientology's Sea Organization flagship vessel, and later to 1990s Seattle, where she becomes a rising star in the lesbian community. In between there are wives and lovers, heartbreak and triumph, bridges mended and broken, and a journey of self-discovery that will mesmerize readers."--Jacket.

I love Kate Bornstein's writing she is phenomenal! Definitely a worth a read!

A really interesting and thought provoking read for anyone interested in gender issues. I also found the years describing her scientology experience fascinating and closely mirrors what is being written about 'Tom-Kat' presently. The writing is flamboyant at times, probably much like the character.

A mostly entertaining, and somewhat informative, memoir of a transgender ex-Scientologist. Tje author says she's not being entirely truthful she's also a performance artist), so it's hard to tell how seriously to take this book.
