Another great time in Lehane's world with Patrick and Angie. It's absolutely impossible for me to put these books down when I read them. This one focused on the nature of loss and once again, Lehane makes you think and feel deeply while he immerses you in a dark, compelling thriller. They don't get better than him.

Well written with snappy dialogue, great descriptions of settings, likeable mains. I love the way these two work together & I love Angie's strength: nobody needs to rescue her! She can dig herself out of any mess!

After reading Gone, Baby, Gone this was disappointing. The dialog felt like bad network tv comedy-crime. I loved Gone, Baby, Gone, which I believed followed Sacred. I gave up on Sacred after 50 pages.

Again Lehane doesn't disappoint. Cracking dialogue, wonderful descriptions of settings and goes below the surface of his characters. If anything, it's almost too good. You will not want to put 'Sacred' down until you get to the last page

The third book in the Kenzie and Gennaro series)

I think that Dennis Lehane is an excellent writer, but I did not enjoy this book as much as others by him, because I felt that I had to suspend my disbelief too often. However, it was still a good book, and after I had finished the first half of the book, I could not turn the pages fast enough to see how it would end. This is the fifth Dennis Lehane book that I have read, the fourth in the Kenzie-Gennaro series, and I plan to read all of his books. His books, although dark, are fascinating!
