Brilliantly conceived and executed. The Introduction alone is worth reading many times over. The author creates a context for appreciating why and how "We must relearn to see" and how essential artists have been and are to the development of humanity, even as she describes forms of art beyond the museum and atelier. For example, she asks and addresses the question "what lasts, and why" and asserts the "Civilization is defined by law and art."

very interesting discussion of the art pieces she chose.

This is a book of short essays about art written by witty and nutty Camille Paglia, who is at her best: provocative, opinionated, colourful, passionate. funny and full of good researched information.
