I read this 2 years ago, the first of several of Delaney's books that I've recently read. A Iraq War news correspondent who suffered a TBI returns to Canada, living with her sister and husband on their organic farm. Delaney takes us back and forth between the main characters present struggles with her lapse in memory, and the mystery around the history of the old farm and a violent event. A story of her post war recovery, her inquisitive nature surrounding letters found in the attic, and their connection to the homestead. While there are points of conflict with her brotherinlaw, the most dreaded fear she encounters is that of someone she trusts who threatens the safety of the entire household.
Great book, kept my interest which is difficult, especially the style of writing reverting to a historical context.
