This is a rather amusing book made up of anecdotes from Kevin Pollak’s career. Oddly, the man does not come off sounding likable in his own book. Funny, yes, and clever. But also very egotistical. Many of the anecdotes consist of Pollak meeting some show business legend, who then (according to Pollak) goes on to tell Pollak how wonderful he is. Pollak also is not shy about including some rather harsh critcisms of people he has worked with. Whether all of these characterizations are true or not, they paint a portrait of an ingracious person. Now, I’m not recommending against the book, and do encourage others to read and be amused by it. But be prepared to have your affection for the author and subject of the book diminished by his own words.

I stopped a few pages into this name dropping piece of merde. Dear Sir I'm Going To Burn Your Book.

A light and entertaining read with some funny inside stories about a lot of people.

Really enjoyed this name-dropping memoir covering highlights of Kevin Pollak’s career in showbiz. Interesting anecdotes about working with stars like Warren Beatty, Belushi, Carson, Cruise, De Niro, Larry King, Lemmon, Leno, Jerry Lewis, Loren, Steve Martin, Matthau, Nicholson, Reiner, Rickles, Scorcese, Shatner, Spacey, Walken, and Willis. I learned a few practical details too about the day-to-day work of actors shooting movies in L.A. Things that were new to me, like per diems and the weekly workload of making a TV sitcom (surprisingly light).
