This is one of those mysteries where you keep watching, curious as to what is going on. Occasionally, you hear some of that Hitchcock music in the background. This got a prize for best youth film at the Cannes film festival. Perhaps with a few changes, this could have been a very good film. It was just too disjointed for my taste. I’m not sure I understand it, but what is worse I don’t really care.

One of the earlier films by Spanish director Julio Medem. It is a story of intrigue, love, and mental disorder. The plot can be a bit convoluted at places and is punctuated by the director's signature moments of eroticism and sexuality. I had the patience and found the film to be very enjoyable to watch. Spanish with subtitles.
