An incredible account of The Battle of Gettysburg. Written from the point of view of the commanding leaders on both sides. This is a must read for anyone interested in American history but is also just a super interesting and touching story for anyone.

A very compelling and lucid description of the Battle of Gettysburg, with illuminating insights into the major protagonists involved. Recommended for anyone who wants a quick but comprehensive understanding of this decisive battle.

Though this is a fictional account of the Battle of Gettysburg the historical detail and personal perspectives provided are realistic and compelling. For Civil War buffs and readers of general American history alike.

This was the best civil war story I have ever read!! War books are not my usual cup of tea but my Dad gave it to me said I would enjoy it. He was right! :)

The only trouble I had was keeping up on who was charging or attacking where. I didn't give it 5 stars because its not my usual book but it was still very, very good

I read this over Memorial Day weekend. A very moving account that captured the sense of being at Gettysburg during the battle: the risk taking, weariness, anger, sorrow, dutifulness, & bleak humor that go with men at war. This is a fast read that carries immense weight.

I really didn't expect to like this book, and was pleasantly surprised to find it very enjoyable, engaging, and informative without being dry or slow-moving.

A really wonderful and insightful story of the Battle of Gettsyburg. Gives an excellent image of what it must have been like to fight in that terrible war. Very interesting and well written.

This is one of the best books about war that I have ever read. It is the story of the Battle of Gettysburgh during the Civil War. I loved this story because it was told from the perspective of the leaders on both sides of the battle. It is a very human story. The focus is on the strategy of the battle and the feelings and opinions of the men responsible for the decisions. I really learned a lot from reading this book. It was an amazing history lesson wrapped up in a moving and emotional story.

My favourite book; an extraordinary, powerful telling of the battle of Gettysburg through the eyes of some of the men who fought it.

One of my all-time favorite books. The mini-series Gettysburg, was based on this book. This is an excellent book for men. If you like Civil War history, this book is excellent.
