The author's claim to fame is that he travelled extensively through his 20s, worked various jobs and then invested in the stockmarket in dividend paying stocks and "retired" with a million dollar networth at 34 and he and his wife and kids live off the dividends. I've done the math and his numbers just don't add up. I suspect he probably makes more off selling these light weight "financial planning" novels than he actually makes on a 100% stock exposure. This particular book focuses mainly on preparing a budget, investing in stocks, and living within your means. If you're completely new to any type of financial planning, investing, or budgeting, this book may provide very, very basic suggestions, but beyond that there are much better books such as "Retirement Rocks" and "The Millionaire Next Door."
