The entire war is covered, from relevant considerations of the developments in social history decades earlier to the lives of individual people, some prominent and some not, after the war, overwhelmingly from a British point of view. Clearly read, although I was sometimes distracted by some mispronunciations, for example, he said "Croat" in such a way that it rhymes with "note".

7 stars to this read & one I wish was taught in history classes today. Everything I was ever taught, saw in film or read thus far is shallow in comparison. Maybe this raw history is taught in Britain, certainly not in America. Mindless carnage, inept leaders with a 15th century mindset of war makes WWI criminal. It helps to be interested in history and/or war. Desertion was probably not a possibility - where would one have gone? This gives new meaning to protest & civil unrest. This read will stay with me for years to come. Arthur Morey is my favorite reader, I'd listen to him read the phone book.
