I wasn't a huge fan of this book (but I like the author and other books), my 3 year old son loved it.
I did change a few words and added a bit more description to parts to highlight the rat is very rude and mean.
It rhymes well. It has a way to point out that greed has ramification although I feel I had to elaborate and if I had of read the story first I wouldn't have read it to my son as it was a little too subtle and too involving around the baddie and tricking, but that can be solved and the book made into a fun book to read.
My son got a kick out of reading a book about a badie.
I'd wait to read it to a child that can appreciate it is a story.

Unless you appreciate a cowboy-robber theme, you likely won't care for this book anymore than we did.

You gotta love how the BADDIE is the key character and he gets his come-uppance from the smart thinking duck!
