This book is not as riveting a read as "House in the Sky". While some of the elements of the kidnappings are similar, Jessica, after being rescued wants, to focus on her own life and wants to put an end to "doing good in Africa" as she sees such efforts as a hopeless cause. I found the intervention by the SEALS informative.

This is an engaging read from the beginning, and you get a concrete sense of what this hostage lived through. The book switches around among portions by Jessica, by her husband, and by a third person. I skipped most of her husband's parts, as I found her recount of the kidnapping to be more of what I hoped for in the read. Some parts are a bit disjointed without a clarity or linear progression; but I suppose that is a product of editing.
