Portuguese isn't Latino/a.
Not her best, but it's spunky
Above average 2012 CD with 12 cuts by Canadian Latino singer.
A bit too hip-hop for my tastes, though, compared to her stellar earlier work.

Has anyone ever wondered what happens to one helluva an artist, who is truely unique and full of courage and unchartered lyricism, when their record company, coupled with their insane ambition to top the charts, ruins that unique talent? That is the story of Nelly Furtado. My mom hooked me onto her first album "Whoa Nelly", and I'm sure everyone remembers "I'm like a bird", bloody brilliant album. But it was Nelly's sophomore album "Folklore" that cemented her as a pioneer in the forward progression of the female artist. Every song on that album covered so many genres and scopes, it truly helped me out of a depression. But that album wasn't a hit with consumers, and thus Nelly went underground to emerge with "Loose." And although it propelled her to the top of the charts (worldwide) it left many scratching their heads as to where our beloved Nelly had went. She released a couple of foreign language albums afterwards, did a lot colaborations, and finally released "The Spirit Indestructable" in 2012. The first song I heard from it was "Big Hoops" the dumbest song I have almost heard and so I left this album on the backburner for a while. But when I finally listened to it, the old Nelly is definately there, but the listener has to litterally skip through songs 2 and 3 because they crash the album. Nelly's vocals are light, airy even, so mashing them together with heavy hitting base is not going to work in an unskilled producer's hands. But once the weak flows leave, the vibes mellow out, and this is where Nelly shines, where her voice and lyrics are at the forefront, and that is what is most important of all. She is not an artist cut of that guild of fast clubby beats, for she actually has talent, and it's time for her label (and herself) start to believe this.
Another rap album - Hate it.
Her first 1-2 albums were the best.
