Rothbart is a good writer getting the most out of slice-of-life topics. But his stories soon grew tiresome.

A sweet and funny book. I would agree that his falling in love immediately seems to be a recurring theme, and the one girl he really seems to care about he ends up ditching in a day upon meeting her in person and not having chemistry. A little shallow on that count.

These bighearted essays could have been shortened & tightened up & still kept their impact or made a bigger one. I confess I grew a little tired of reading about his bumbling love life & his lack of insight into his misadventures.

Fantastically funny. The random and often unbelievable scenes from Rothbart's life read somewhat like the pages of FOUND Magazine. They are quirky, coincidental, hilarious and heartfelt testaments of the potential for weirdness in everyday life.
