When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, stalked by her ex's frat brother, and failing a class for the first time in her life. Her econ professor gives her an email address for Landon, the class tutor, who shows her that she's still the same intelligent girl she's always been. As Jacqueline becomes interested in more from her tutor than a better grade, his teasing responses make the feeling seem mutual. There's just one problem-- their only interactions are through email. Meanwhile, a guy in her econ class proves his worth the first night she meets him. Nothing like her popular ex or her brainy tutor, Lucas sits on the back row, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. At a downtown club, he disappears after several dances that leave her on fire. When he asks if he can sketch her, alone in her room, she agrees-- hoping for more. Then Jacqueline discovers a withheld connection between her supportive tutor and her seductive classmate, her ex comes back into the picture, and her stalker escalates his attention by spreading rumors that they've hooked up. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy" -- from author's web site.

I really enjoyed this book. some parts of it are quite violent, and harder to read (and this is the reason I wouldn't recommend this book for teens), but they serve a purpose in the story. Very nicely written.

I would recommend this book to mature people because it is a fantastic romance story but it also has mentions of attempted rape.

I really loved it because through out the book you didn't really see anything coming. it flowed in a nice different way, rather than just another book with another author but the content repetitive.

(opinion from a 14 year old)

if there could be one book you should read whilst still a teen its this remarkable book by Tammara Webbers. I wont lie when i say you will feel love as well as hate towards the charachters.
i absolutely urge you to read this book. i promise you will either be reluctant to ever put it down or want it to never finish ; )

I absolutely fell in love with these characters. The book has some very good messages for teen girls about self defense & date rape, but it's the love story that sucked me in. I have already started on the author's other books, the Between the Lines series, and have discovered that I will probably love anything this author writes. Very highly recommended.

I have been waiting for a book this good to come out for a long time now! Jacqueline is such a relatable character that I almost began to think of her as a real person! The way the author describes Lucas made me wish he was a real person - yum! Kennedy is described as basically being the classic jerk, and I think everyone can think of someone he reminds them of! Erin is the classic sorority type girl who comes across a little shallow at first, but quickly gains depth and firmly stands up for what she believes in, which I really admire. I liked that this book explored the subject of a girl following her boyfriend to his college, only to realize that that's not the school she wanted to go to. I think a lot of couples about to go to college struggle with this decision, so that's just another thing about this book that peeople can relate to. This book also deals with heavier topics such as unwanted sexual attention/ rape, and a little with stalkers. Sadly, a lot of women can also relate to these subjects, so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, then I wouldn't suggest this book for you. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's a good, relatable story (as in no supernatural stuff, which I personally tend to get a little sick of), but it has enough deeper meaning to keep you thinking about it long after you've finished reading it. Enjoy!
