Clay Scarborough, foreman of the Circle R. Ranch, is beset by troubles. There are rustlers in the area. Gold has been discovered and the countryside is being overrun by miners and tent cities. And both the ranch and his heart have been turned upside down by the arrival of Annie, a relative of his boss. But then two of his men are ambushed, and when he sets out on the track of their killer, he finds that much more than stolen cattle is at stake in his part of Montana.
