Just like Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison (who both died at the height of their music careers), Janis Joplin was also, very much, the absolute embodiment of rock'n'roll of her generation (the 1960s).
Known as "The Queen of Psychedelic Blues", Janis Joplin (born in Texas) was, indeed, a very powerful, blues-inspired singer who always gave her cheering fans a great, emotionally-charged show on stage.
Sadly enough, Janis had a decidedly troubled personality which, in turn, partially contributed to her untimely death (at 27) from a heroin overdose (compounded with alcohol) in 1970.
This "Best Of" CD contains 10 tracks in all which were recorded by Janis Joplin in the years between 1968-1970. Three of my favourites are - Move Over, Get It While You Can, and Piece Of My Heart.
