Vegucated describes the journey of three non-vegans on a six week vegan odyssey. While it does touch on the health benefits of a vegan diet, which the science seems to support, this is mostly a low-key introduction into the vegan philosophy with the standard arguments about the horrendous and unnecessary suffering the food processing industry inflicts on animals and how animal production for meat is not an environmentally sustainable source of food for a planet with over seven billion people. All are valid points but most people growing up and living with the standard American diet propagated and validated by the for-profit food industry are still not ready to hear it which shows just how successful the food-industry has been in tagging vegans as annoying, sometimes dangerous extremists. It touched a little bit on that back-lash as well and on the difficulty of going vegan when all your friends and relatives aren't and they see going vegan as something of an extremist lifestyle. That's the hurdle vegans need to jump. An interesting, low-budget documentary but nothing I haven't heard elsewhere - usually in more strident terms. As might be expected, at the end of the documentary the non-vegans had determined they were going to try to be vegans for life thereafter.

- because Marisa Miller Wolfson is a vegan she wears a shirt with Rational Person written across the chest.
- Marisa implies that Eskimos can not be vegan because of their ice landscape. The truth is that Eskimos can not be vegan because it will cause them disease to consume a diet that is contrary to their physiology
- Marisa holds up a book titled How the Hetero Capitalist Able-Bodied White Patriarchy Ruined the World (in other words, Straight White Average Working Men Are Destructive To The Planet).
- the only home cooked food shown 15 minutes into the video is prepared by a chef and not the average person.
- Marisa promotes the buying and consumption of processed foods that are mostly soy based. Other promoted processed foods are just down right unhealthy.
- Marisa promotes corporations that are destructive to health and the planet.
- Marisa promotes eating out a lot at restaurants with deep fried foods, sodas and junk foods.
- eating soy is repeatedly suggested.
- at 20:50 Marisa uses psychological and emotional trauma to convert her potential vegans.
- at 35:04 Marisa said that she has covered organic farms, somehow I have missed it in the video or it was edited out.
- Marisa promotes the fallacy of man-made global warming due to carbon emissions. The Sun, commonly practised geo-engineering and regular chemtrail applications are the main factors behind man-made climate change.

- eating meat is not the problem. The elimination of an abundance of small scale traditional family farms in lieu of gigantic factory farms is the problem. Having your food grown and shipped from the other side of the planet instead of it coming from your region is the problem.
- at 52:15 the vegan puppet robots state that meat is bad. Meat is not bad, it's modern factory meat production that is bad.
- at 54:25 Marisa uses psychological and emotional trauma to convert the viewer.
- at 56:50 Marisa uses an image of farm deadstock for shock value. Death is normal on any farm, in any family and town or city.
For many years I have been studying food, health, physiology, food production and agriculture and have been eating a QUALITY vegan and vegetarian diet. I have also toured to study the practices and operations of almost two dozen farms throughout my region. And yes, factory farming has a lot of problems.

On soy . . .
- soy is popular because of massive investment in advertising by the multi-billion dollar soy industry.
- there are thousands of soy-based foods.
- the majority of consumers perceive soy products to be healthy.
- most soy is GMO and contaminated with pesticide residue.
- soy is linked to malnutrition, digestive distress, immune-system breakdown, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders, infertility, cancer, heart disease, breast cancer, brain damage, infant abnormalities, kidney stones, food allergies, pregnancy dangers.
- 80% of world's soy is used as farm animal feed.
- soy production contributes to deforestation.
- soy contains aluminum, manganese, saponins, hemagglutinin, soyatoxin, phytates, protease inhibitors, isoflavones genistein, daidzein, oxalates and goitrogens.
- FERMENTED organic soy is safe to eat such as tempeh, miso, natto and soy sauce. SOY SAFE PRODUCTS MUST BE FERMENTED and should be organic.

Good documentary exposing the cruel practices on factory farms and the suffering of farm animals. I wish it had more on fresh, unprocessed food ideas. Overall, it's a film well worth watching.

This is an excellent film. I found the reactions/comments of the three meat eaters to be quite fascinating in that the film shows how really difficult it is to become vegan in such a meat and cheese oriented society, even when one is exposed to the cruelty and hypocrisy of the industries involved in making products that contribute to obesity and ill health.

There are better documentaries available, this one is OK. I was very put off by Wolfson teaching her participants to eat substitutes for foods they already eat, such as hot dogs and cheese. When she looked at the before and after refrigerators there were still very few fresh vegetables. No wonder the three participants were struggling.

A good film, but mainly propaganda. Very informal, not very much new information as far as treatment of animals practices goes, and little information on the foods that vegans actually eat. How is soy produced? It is also a monoculture causing harm to the environment and can be just as contaminated with pesticides and herbicides as other plants. The whole food system needs to change. You may think you are making good decisions by buying "natural" "organic" or other "green" foods, but you may still be supporting unhealthy food production practices.

This is a great film. It has some humor, some personal struggle, and some eye-opening educational moments. If you've ever wondered why some people are vegan, or why they tried going vegan and failed, or are thinking about a vegan diet or lifestyle, you will enjoy this movie.
