Inâes, who had been imprisoned for her support of the Communists during the Spanish Civil War, joins other veterans, now exiled in France, in invading a remote valley in the Pyrenees in an attempt to overthrow the Franco regime in 1944.

After supporting communists in Madrid, suffering calamities during the war and after her prison experience; Ines dreams of escaping and leaving behind the worst years of her life. This epic shows the invasion of the Aran Valley and stories of women and men, who fought with conviction, lived in exile and returned in 1977 to an unrecognizable country.
