"Nao Brown suffers from OCD, but not the hand-washing, overly tidy type that people often refer to jokingly. Nao suffers from violent, morbid obsessions, while her compulsions take the form of unseen mental rituals. Working part-time in a 'designer' vinyl toy shop, while struggling to get her own illustration career off the ground, she's still searching for that elusive love--the perfect love. And in meeting the man of her dreams, she realises... dreams can be quite weird"--From publisher description.

I enjoyed this book. The symbolism was a little confusing though. Also, if you didn't know Nao had OCD, some people might not recognize the symptoms because it is not explicitly explained. Regardless, it was an excellent representation of OCD. I found Nao, herself, fascinating. The relationship with Japanese culture, Buddahism was informative and interesting for me. Also, the art was freakin beautiful and knowing that Dillon did all the art, story, and design himself is impressive.

The art is really the best part of this. Very realistic and very surreal at points as we follow the daily struggles of 28 year old Nao Brown to quiet the obsessive and sometimes violent thoughts that go through her head every day at a moment's notice. While she deals with this there is also working to get her career off the ground and is trying to date as well. There's a lot going on here but, as I said earlier, it's the art that really keeps you reading.

I enjoyed this, the art is good, the story fresh, the characters mostly likeable, but it should have been edited more tightly, and some things did not work at all. But I would not hesitate to recommend it.
