Charlotte Nicholls has made a new life for herself and little Chloe. They have left everything behind, determined to forget a past which has cast a shadow over both their lives. But just when she feels they might have a chance of happiness at last, Charlotte is forced to confront the consequences of the heartbreaking decision she took only a few months earlier. And it seems as if her greatest fear is about to be realised - that the little girl she promised to love and protect will be lost to her forever.

Must read prequel prior to this.
Happy sigh. Resolution. Charlotte and Chloe are finally safe. Was uneasy with the escape in first book and appreciate how the accountability was addressed in this sequel - otherwise it would have been too much of a fairy tale. Gripping read - the first book kept me up and the second had me just as distracted. Excellent writing allows you to be transported to the world within.

Make sure to read "No child of mine" first as this is subsequent.

This was an amazing book, so hard not to keep a few chapters to see what happens. Had me on the edge of my seat and hard to put the book down.
