I always like his historical novels. There is some gore, but that is what the times were like back then. Rating PG-13

The weakest book of the series, sadly. Kublai is not as compelling as Genghis was, and the endless attempts to contrast him with his "bad" brothers oversimplifies the historical context. I'm sad that the author chose to end the series here, another book dealing with the failed invasions of Japan would have made for a fascinating and dramatic finale.

One of the best of the series and kept me going the whole way through. Sad that it was the last and hopefully Igguldel den will come up with another hostorical figure to write about as the first two have been great.
