Okay, first things first, this album is incredible! Check it out, listen, and meld. It's sorta ambient, but engaging, far more dynamic than you'd expect out of a solo bass album. The idea of a bass guitar carrying an entire album is kinda nuts, but Laswell is no ordinary dude.
Laswell is a mysterious character whose name surfaces now and then, usually for producing someone else's album. But once he is noticed, and you start digging, the breadth and depth of his work is overwhelming. Who is this guy, and why does he work with a guitarist who wears a KFC bucket on his head?
Ah, so many musical avenues to explore, and this album is a great entry point to lead anywhere you'd like. But before all that ... linger here for a long while.
