Baker & Taylor
The non-mainstream American foreign policy expert and author of Rogue State and Killing Hope explains why he believes the United States' motives in spreading democracy are neither honorable or noble in nature and exposes the numerous contradictions surrounding the policies. Original. 20,000 first printing.

McMillan Palgrave
For over sixty-five years, the United States war machine has been on automatic pilot. Since World War II we have been conditioned to believe that America's motives in 'exporting' democracy are honorable, even noble. In this startling and provocative book, William Blum, a leading dissident chronicler of US foreign policy and the author of controversial bestseller Rogue State, argues that nothing could be further from the truth. Moreover, unless this fallacy is unlearned, and until people understand fully the worldwide suffering American policy has caused, we will never be able to stop the monster.

Sweden is the world's largest per capita arms exporter. [Quote from this outstanding book - - now that's progressive! /sarc]
Anyone who has been closely following the assault on WikiLeaks' Assange by the USA via Sweden [that country wanting to extradite him to Gothenburg, or Goteburg, as that is where Jeppesen Systems AB, that extreme rendition subsidiary of Boeing, resides], realizes that NO HUMAN in Sweden has filed any criminal complaint against Assange for anything! Confused?
Not after reading this most excellent book you won't be - - the Hegemons explained!

What every Canadian needs to know about the military machine that we call neighbour. You will be surprised...and appalled. And we do need to be aware ... Manifest Destiny is not just a 19th century concept ... 'Neoconservatism ... Traded upon the historic American myths of innocence, exceptionalism, triumphalism and Manifest Destiny. It offered a vision of what the United States should do with its unrivaled global power. In all this, it proclaimed that the maximal use of American power was good for both America and the world.' (Columbia University professor Gary Dorrien, The Christian Century Magazine, January 2007)
