This book is a massive emotional rollercoaster. Definitely deserves a good rating!!! There's sadness, but it's incredibly heart-warming and inspirational. It speaks of the importance of friendship and connection with other people, and how love can fully impact someone (especially Jessie and Beau's loyalty to Mark). The perspective changes between Jessie and Mark really worked for me, and the linkage they have together is indescribable. The usage of haikus and Mark taking pictures connects everything together, making it an enjoyable read for me. The final chapter tied things together and was a satisfying end in my opinion. One little thing about the story is that the way the children acted for their age wasn't the most reasonable from my point of view. They held very, very mature thoughts on life, making the theme of the story for slightly older young readers. The imagery is really good though. Couldn't put this book down!
