A horror story. A most believable one. Expertly crafted. A triumph. This book incorporates many aspects of past and present day society into its disturbing, memorable plot. It may seem extreme and futuristic.......but it really isn't. The characters aren't the most likeable, but that isn't the point, so don't let yourself get hung up on that. They're interesting, distinct, and contribute a lot to the development and eventual moral of the story. O' Neill writes vividly, eloquently, poignantly, and in a way that evokes the best and worst emotions in her readers. This book is a wild ride. Utterly unforgettable.
