Back in those by-gone days when "Big Band" Jazz ruled all across the nation, singer Nat King Cole ranked right up there as one of the most well-liked, black, male vocalists of his generation. With his ultra-smooth and super-mellow singing style, Nat King Cole quickly gained worldwide popularity throughout the 1940s & 50s. This "Greatest Hits" CD contains 22 songs covering the years of Nat's career from 1943 to 1963. 3 of my favorite tunes are - Mona Lisa, Too Young, and (Get Your Kicks On) Route 66. Sad to say - In 1965, at the young age of 46, Nat King Cole (a heavy cigarette smoker for most of his adult life) died from lung cancer.
