WOW! It’s clear that Kareem Abdul-Jabar his English/History undergraduate work to heart and that he’s been able to capture the essence of Sherlock Holmes mysteries in this mystery centered on Sherlock’s brother Mycroft. And to that central character he has added a black Trinidadian as his friend and cohort in solving a disgraceful mystery involving selling slaves. I don’t like reviews that tell me what’s happening, I want to discover that myself as I read the book. Just suffice it to say, I hope Abdul-Jabar makes these two counterpoints to Sherlock and Dr. Watson the focus of a series.
