Have you ever read someone’s diary? It’s OK when the diary is in a book. ;) All three books in the trilogy of the Mr. Terupt novels are a diary written by seven fifth-graders (Because of Mr. Terupt), then the same seven six-graders (Mr. Terupt Falls Again), and finally - seven-graders (Saving Mr. Terupt). The children are boys and girls with their own, very different personalities. But what keeps them together is their favorite teacher, Mr. Terupt. The book stands out as an engaging and honest read. The author skillfully debunks various stereotypes, including teen mothers, Native Americans, and a small town mentality. Totally relatable and inspiring.
