This is a fabulous contemporary Mediterranean cookbook. While I'm not sure if I want to cook every recipe in here, I do want to eat everything! I always think of Mediterranean food as something elderly grandmas or friendly moustache'd cooks make to steal your soul and forever destroy your love for junk food, but the trendier authors, Ottolenghi and Tamimi are artful in their repurposing of old-fashioned ingredients. They kind of made Mediterranean food (which seemed a bit old-fashioned to me before) current, urban and sexy. I'm not ready to return the book after 1 day of going through it, but I wanted to write this review so that you know that this is a book to hold if you want to be inspired to cook. The recipes look simple to prepare, yet I found them novel and sophisticated. This is one of those cookbooks that are a cut above the rest, and I'm so happy I chanced upon it. What a lovely read!
