NEGATIVITY WARNING: “The Croods" didn't need a sequel; very few films do. The plot line of the original “Croods” was creative enough for me. A family of cave-people who *gasp!* meet a shirtless human named GUY? (Really, though: I'm being serious). The second "Croods" film was unnecessary. It's what some people may call "the cash-out" (or, at least, that's what I call it). The sequel's plot line was confusing, and even if it was pulled off properly is still weak. No score is dramatic enough to drown out the lack of the storyline's cooperation. The visuals were distracting and spasmatic. The mostly-crude jokes fell flat (no pun intended), and I wanted to bash my head against the theater wall maybe as many times as a character repeated a not-very-funny joke. Likable characters weren't shown that often, and almost everyone I thought I liked in the first "Croods" movie became increasingly annoying in "the new age." (I want the old age back)! So yeah... Dare you to watch "The Croods: A New Age." Will you be screaming in agony on the theater floor? Probably.
