"In 1924, the twelve men of the British Mount Everest expedition arrived in Tibet, intending to be the first to summit the world's highest peak. They recruited indigenous Himalayans as porters and guides, setting up base camps along the mountain. During the final ascent attempt, climbers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine disappeared, and were last spotted only 800 feet from the summit. While Mallory's body was discovered in 1999--without the camera he was given to photograph the summit--Irvine's body has never been found. Everest 24 casts a new light on this famous expedition.
